Tim’s Take On Ceramic Coatings
Some call it a sealant and some call it wax, but the new technology is in a ceramic coating. A ceramic coating is a polymer that, when cured, creates a very hard and durable layer on all the vehicle’s exterior surfaces. This layer adds extreme gloss, slickness, and maximum UV protection, but is mainly known for its phenomenal hydrophobic properties which allow water to roll right off the surface and promotes ease in removing dirt or road grime during a wash.
Whether you maintenance your vehicle yourself or have it professionally done with us, it makes the process much easier, allowing you to save on time and effort while still getting a professional result. Tim finds that coated vehicles are only valuable if they are properly cared for. Ceramic coatings can fail depending on the manufacture’s predicted lifespan, average weather conditions the vehicle is exposed to, and the maintenance it’s receiving. So, Tim encourages coated vehicles to be on a regular maintenance schedule to make sure the coating is being properly decontaminated and supported.
Even though our ceramic coatings are such high performance, it doesn’t protect the vehicle from rock chips and scratches. This is where Tim recommends Paint Protection Film to protect against significant damage to the paint. However, since not all vehicles qualify for PPF due to preexisting damage, ceramic coatings are a great alternative to making sure there is some level of protection on the paint and plastics!
